Celebrities signing clips of Hamilton songs are going viral to raise money to support immigrants. Here's Jonathan Groff, who played king George in the original broadway cast, along with a special guest:  https://twitter.com/lin_manuel/status/880171589471543297

Groff is amazing. When we saw the show, there's a bit near the end where he sort of lurks around while all the Americans are in turmoil, and he snuck up behind LOJ as Burr and pulled a face and LOJ totally lost it. Like...Jimmy Fallon on SNL type breaking character. It was great.

Good luck!  I'm kind of mixed about seeing at KC, the Opera House is a really big venue and I haven't enjoyed seeing other plays there as much as I've liked seeing them on Broadway.  I'm not a KC member but I'm figuring that by the time I can get a ticket, it will be less expensive to take the train to NYC, stay a night, and see it at the RR Theater.  It looks like tickets now are $99-199 which is pretty good, assuming there are any left after the 27,000 people in front of you get theirs. :(

update: there are currently 57,000 people in line.  Tickets on Stubhub are running $700-$930

I just got a subscription this year. It’s an expensive way to do it, but honestly I’ve gotten to see some other good shows and it’s much cheaper than the secondary market and much less nerve racking.

Was Hamilton part of your subscription? My friend has had a subscription for ages and it's not in her package.  She's about 1250 people in line behind me lol.

Yes. I have tickets in hand for Saturday June 23 in the 2nd row of first tier. The whole subscription was like 1100 bucks for two tickets (six shows). Like I said, pricey, considering that I also have baseball full season plan that I don’t split with anyone. But cheaper and more convenient than a trip to NYC. Plus “The Humans” was quite good. And “On Your Feet” was pretty fun as well.
And I just subscribed this year. They had initially stated that you needed to subscribe last year and this year. They didn’t have enough people bite on that, because they called me last year to see if I was interested.

Maybe your friend had a different subscription?

My sister had a better line spot than me, so she got it sorted. Thankfully. I gave up once she said she got em. Had to catch my flight to the Grapefruit League. Hi from dca!

Shoot, I should have considered a subscription. That sounds like a fairly good deal if Hamilton tickets are in there. We rotate theater subscriptions every year between the major theaters in town but have never stepped up to the KenCen. This would have been the year to do it.

Back to Hamilton, I became a member in December (and it's deductible I think) and today I did OK. I ended up getting two pairs in the front of the balacony. One on Aug. 23 and one on Aug. 30. It was the best I could do.

Thanks. I was hoping to get four together but my number was like 18,000 and I didn't get in until about 4:30. I was lucky to get pairs because apparently after 5pm or so only singles were available. I will try to figure out a way to combine them for one night.

Weird Al is reportedly releasing a Polka version of Hamilton.  Lin and he will be on Fallon tomorrow.
