Next year just needs to be a year to build for the future. Get rid of flotsam like Gio and Espinosa, play Turner at short, get a crappy CFer not named Revere (crap play Goodwin), give Lopez the #5 spot, prepare for the inevitable second TJS for Strasburg, get OF replacements in line, etc.
Find a long term catcher, final chance for Taylor/Goodwin to prove they are starter quality, let Koda or another young guy close. But with Harper, Murphy, and Trea in the lineup it shouldn't be a complete punt year.

Oh c'mon Slate - stop your "sky is falling" mentality.  Murphy & Harper aren't lost to the playoffs

If you're legitimately doing that, you pretty much have to trade Harper and Murphy.

Taylor's trash, he shouldn't be in AAA even. Harper's a nag and injures himself a ton any way, lol @ counting on him for anything. You say don't punt but want Glover closing? Makes no sense.

Probably on a one year real in 2018, unless we find a franchise catcher between now and then.

This might sound awful, that injury might keep him in a Nats uniform.

I wish him the best of health and like someone else said, he lost a sh*t ton of money on that play.

About time for the SSS to start spewing bullcrap about what a great season it's been and how the playoffs are just a crapshoot.

I hope they are a crapshoot because that's the only chance we have.

Spider - you really do have blinders on.  Opposing pitchers think they can get Espinosa to swing at pitches outside the strike zone.  So they throw balls, not strikes

My meds kicked in just as the match started - out like a light - then I woke up in time to catch the last half hour or so of the debate on WMAL. Probably just as well.

Rizzo is exactly the kind of guy who would sell high on Daniel Murphy in the offseason.
