Trea Turner reminds me of Lou Brock

I imagine the tryout is over...

Turner is going to be very valuable in the postseason.

Well, either that or he'll choke like the female star of "Deep Throat".

Turner is unbelievable. Loved the comment that in this team, he's the best player. That's incredible.

Eddie Matz ESPN Senior Writer
"Trea Turner's rookie season just keeps getting better. The Nats leadoff man hit a walk-off bomb to dead-center, his second jack of the game, to give Washington a 5-4 win over the Phillies. On the season, he's now hitting .345 with a .906 OPS. Even though Corey Seager seems like a lock for Rookie of the Year, Turner won't be far behind."

I just got back - thank you metro - and wanted to ask how is it that scouting reports have Turner as a 20 game power tool guy?  His raw power is rated as a 40, near and long term, but that still is below average.  He is crushing the ball.  These aren't just barely over the wall.  he hits 400'+ shots.

Brock isn't the comparable.  Henderson or Raines might be better comparable.  As for an infielder,

Ernie Banks? Ernie did not try to steal bases and did not hit triples.

Maybe OF Sam Rice, who hit double-digit triples ten consecutive seasons. Hard to compare power, because Trea's first home run would have bounced off the LF wall when Rice played in Washington (405 feet down LF line plus 10-foot fence), and the game-winner would have been caught (438 feet just to the right of dead center).

Not bad if Trea Turner turns out like Sam Rice (.322 lifetime BA, .801 lifetime OPS, HoF).

Body type like Lou Brock, but power like Raines and Henderson. This kid is the find of the season, obviously.

Dustry on his post game presser said that the reason he's successful is because he got seasoning and confidence in the minors.
