Wow, I cannot even imagine what that day was like for you.
Walked probably 40 blocks to the hotel. Spent most of the day trying to get in touch with my wife due to the phone issues. Stayed a couple more days. No flights so finally was able to rent a car. Mostly I just remember the soot in the air all week. And the resilience of the New Yorkers. Everyone kept going about their business.

It must've been absolutely surreal.  I've been to the memorial and think it's perfect but when we went you had to go through like a full on security screening and we were lined up like cattle forever, just really wasn't quite what I was expecting.  The museum wasn't opened yet when I went, I'd love to see that.  Fun fact, my son in laws company is opening the club at the top of the Freedom Tower and they offered the club to him, he declined which I can understand but at the same time what a cool place that would've been to work.

So now I'm looking at tickets for tomorrow night. It's laughable how much is available.

Hang on A. J.

I'm liking this A.J. kid. He battles. Nothing like watching a young pitcher figuring it out. Did I mention that I was a high school pitcher always trying to figure it out?

$200-400. Naturally, I booked the $400 dollar room but I cashed in credit points. BiL always has a scheme going on.

I have lived in NYC since 1969. Worked in 1 World Trade Center, about 81st floor, from 1985 - 1990. As NatInPWC says, you could see the way New Yorkers supported each other. Any of us who were around in 2001 tend to talk and talk about that day. Best not to say a thing. I'm tempted, but let's talk baseball.

She's easy to please (why I married her) but you always want to cover your bases.

For me, NYC is about as American as it comes. And I'm a real DC guy but god bless it that's a great American city.

It's my GDT.   Go for it.   Just keep it clean or the mods'll get frisky.   We had the same kind of day here.

My stepfather was there for a meeting at Port Authourity that (obviously) didn't happen.  With no way home and no accommodations lined up, someone put him up for a week.  I'm not sure they had even met before that day.  2001-02 were the high-water mark for this country, in my lifetime at least.

Yea. There was a period of time where the politicians and pundits stopped sniping at each other. Didn't last long enough.
