Thor's pretty good.

Say what you will but if they stay healthy they got some arms.

Sittin' here when they showed Burnett and Latos (sp).    Stras comin' back?     We can match 'em.

Yea. There was a period of time where the politicians and pundits stopped sniping at each other. Didn't last long enough.

Americans always come together when they have to. That's what's interesting to me about WWII. We united like not time before (or since) and that's why we came out ok. They don't call them the Greatest Generation for nothing.

Our top three can match anyone. Scherzer, Stras, Roark. I'll take my chances.

Not to start a ruckus but what choice did they have?    :couch:

Exactly, people were drafted, food and goods were rationed, I mean you kind of had to suck it up and go on about your life.

I hear you, but they were completely unselfish.  I may be romanticizing it but they really sacrificed to come out victorious. It makes me wonder it today's generation is capable of such a thing.

Good job by AJ. Met his folks a few years ago at a game down in Myrtle Beach. Nice folks.
I think he could do well as a regular in the bullpen.

- Many colleagues just barely missed the explosions. Husband of an old friend has a meeting at a company in which no one survived. Lucky Avi and customer took it easy. Decided to meet at 9:15. Another colleague missed the early shuttle. He was in a taxi when the planes hit.

- My development team saw the second plane hit. Nobody noticed the first plane. We worked in the Met Life Building: perfect view downtown toward the WTC.

- A friend evacuated his building, walked uptown away from the Trade Center, just as one of the buildings collapsed. I saw him later...covered in white dust.

- I still remember the restaurants and the Borders book store.

- My company sent technicians to NYC to get data centers up and running again. Took a week or so.

And that's just a start...

I am amazed at the generation that were kids during the depression.  Their sacrifice of childhood and midlife for this country is untouched.

Incredibly moving stuff....why I was so moved at the 9/11 Memorial. We have stories here in DC too.
