Have an iPhone 5. Not sure whether or not I will upgrade. The lack of a headphone port bothers me but I suppose I can adjust?  The phone is fine except I have run out of storage. Wife has an iPhone 6 Plus so she is the one that takes pictures. Wonder if the prices on the iPhone 6 will come down??

Anyone update to iOS 10 yet? I'm interested to know if it's the inevitable update that will make my phone painfully slow, or if it's the next one.

Right now all the major carriers will give you a $650 credit if you trade in an iPhone 6 or 6s, that's enough to get a free iPhone 7 with 32GB of storage.  The catch is that they pro-rate the credit over two years so if you walk away early, you must pay off the 7 or surrender it.  We also got a $400 trade-in credit for a 5s.  So if you are having any thoughts about a 7, now's the time to act.  I do recommend spending the extra $100 getting a 128GB 7.

not yet, there were lots of reported cases of iPhones bricking during the upgrade, but reportedly that's resolved now.  I usually wait a few days to upgrade.  My son upgraded his 6 and hasn't had any issues yet.

Speaking of iOS 10, do you suppose Apple has a copyright infringement case against iSIS?

I usually wait a month and if nobody claims their phone screeched to a halt, I do it.

I don't wanna be the guy whose phone won't load an email in less than ten minutes because I had to get the new fancy software for an old machine.

Updated two days ago and it's a disaster.  First of all, why are they cramming iOS with a bunch of sheeit nobody wants?  Secondly, I used to be able to have more than two apps open without my phone battery draining, now if I have more than two open I can watch the battery percentage go down.  No idea if this is something that can be fixed or not, but using a power bank only works if you don't have more than two apps open.  At least my phone isn't bricked though.

I haven't had any issues at all. One of the smoother of the major updates I've had with the iPhone.

Other than security updates, what is the compelling reason to get ios10?

So far: Better news and messaging apps. A bit cleaner UI for native apps. Cleaner notifications.  It also syncs my safari windows with my Mac.  The messaging app is more like snap chat which my kids like but I don't really use.

Still don't have the update on my phone. I guess Verizon wants to protect me?

I've got Verizon, I got it already.

I also like that I can remove some of the native apps now.

That's interesting. I suppose I will get it eventually.

have you tried going into settings/general/software update?

So far battery life seems to be improved.

You are right. It was there. Usually I get a notification. Think I will hold off for a little.

Those are all worse in iOS 10.  I've been a loyal Apple fan for 15 years but this is the end for me.  Before it was overpriced but I could depend on it because it worked, now it's just overpriced.

Just got the Iphone 7 and transitioned from 5C with no issues. Will report more later but the biggest surprise for me is that it comes with earphones that connect straight to the Lightning port. Yes, they plug right in. So yo don't have to use bluetooth earphones if you don't want.

It also came with a two-inch adapter for your older earphones that will allow you to plug into the Lightning port. And the sound and screen is fierce, especially coming from a 5C.
