Werth didn't know what the count was.

Pierre-Paul's surgeons not only amputated but had to perform reconstructive surgery on the remaining fingers and hand.    Therefore, Zim's recovery should be quicker.    Since it is his left wrist, he will still be able to shake hands with season ticket holders in the suites.

That's a very good point.  Hopefully those saturation coverage snoops at ESPN can keep us abreast with Zimmerman's medical records.  In unrelated news, the Nats are hiring Jim Abbott as an assistant infield coach, perhaps dashing the hopes of the Diamond Club gladhanders who don't know the score but do know that it's the 4th inning (1 inning after arrival, 3 until last call on the free beer).

Daniel Murphy is having the least noticed 1.000+ OPS season in baseball history. I blame pissed off New York media.

My dad told me about an infielder (must have been the '30s or '40s) who only had one arm.   Said he'd catch the grounder, toss the ball in the air as he was moving the glove, put the glove under the missing arm (pit).   He'd catch it in his hand (formerly gloved) and throw it to first.   I'd have to google to see who he was or if pops was havin' a mindfact.

These home D Back jerseys are pretty cool. Every other uniform they have is atrocious.

LaRussa has made the Diamondbacks look like fools too. Never thought I'd say it, but that's an insult to Phil Wood.
