Why?  (serious)    A pitcher can't stop and call time in the middle of his delivery.

because they could delay long enough to frustrate the batter and batters would have no recourse. too long of a delay can ruin concentration. not to mention what it would do to the running game.

They could call time before the delivery begins.    I'm afraid a pitcher (not just one of ours) is gonna bust his a** and get hurt.

Max looked distressed both times it happened to him.  Maybe an Oscar?

You probably know Max's game better than us but he doesn't seem to be the kind of guy who acts.

if you mean when pitchers begin getting set then they would take advantage of the rule to frustrate hitters.

the thing is that even while pitchers are waiting for the signs from the catcher the batters clock is already running. they can't afford to be caught unprepared at the plate

Nah, that's too early.   I was referring to the actual delivery motion.

OT  ....  I noticed (maybe late on this) that the ABC stores in VA have begun selling "Twisted Shotz".   They're shooters (B-52, Sex on the Beach, etc.) in shot glasses.    The contents are separated by a plastic barrier   ...   not too bad.
