That's true with some teams (Mets, Cubs) but not all - I'm a charter STH and usually don't see a lot of Dodger supporters turning out for that team's visits.
I've always seen substantially more opponents' fans at DC sporting venues than anywhere else I've traveled.

I've always seen substantially more opponents' fans at DC sporting venues than anywhere else I've traveled.

More so than the myth that this a "transient town" is that this a destination town. Tourists like to come to DC ($7 billion spent in DC by tourists in 2015), so if they can combine their trip to see the sights with watching their team, then it's a winner.

I agree that some teams don't have much of a turnout (Padres, Dbacks, etc.) but the Dodger fan turn out is usually healthy.
