We never should have traded Derek Norris.

I'm not sure that's unpopular.  He's not the nicest guy on the field, but off it, i've always heard positive things about him.  I've had two direct interactions.  The first was at NatsFest when he had to be dragged away after a Q&A when he was the only one who stayed behind and signed anything that was handed to him (he shook hands with one of my sons).

The other was at a P-Nats game where he was making a rehab appearance.  He got in his dad's truck to leave after he came out of the game, then got back out with a pile of bobble heads and handed them out to kids who were waiting for his autograph.

He doesn't run out ground balls but he seems like a pretty darn quality human being.

Zim, Dunn and Wilingham were a better 3-4-5 than Harp, Murphy and Ramos.

tired of Jayson Werth, dislike his attitude, his stiff wrist swing, and his hair.
he is our Joey Votto.
did get a kick out of his round mouth bobblehead though

Ben Revere's OPS (.557) is 76 points lower than Nyjer Morgan's was in 2010 (.633). :spaz:

If he is going to continue to start he needs to bat 8th or 9th.

Joey Votto shows emotion.

Moving Trea Turner to CF is going to be a disaster.

Disaster like Morgan? Or like Zimmerman?

Care to elaborate?

I watched Ean Desmond misplay flyballs at Target Field this weekend and he's spent a lot more time at MLB parks than Turner.  Just me, but I find it odd when teams jerk prospects around from one position (specifically MIF) to the OF, especially when they don't have power (see: Dustin Ackley).

So. Turner does not have as much power as Ben Revere. Lots of power already at 2B and SS. In fact I bet after a few games he would be better defensively than Revere.

Don't care how many fly balls he misplays if he hits like that. Ian Desmond is 6th in WAR amongst qualified players. And he has positive metrics in the OF. Bottom line is that whatever the Rangers did, it worked.

   20. Papelbon should be signed for 2017-8.

Might have to remove this one as it is no longer unpopular.

Just thought of this one:  when we're losing by 3 in the first, thinking it's not over and we may come back to win.

There is an interesting article in the Post today about Nats fans not being boisterous enough and how the teams would like to see more energy from the fans:

Dear Dusty,

Where is the DC World War I Memorial?

Sincerely,

I hate how that memorial is neglected and most people don't even know it's there.

I like the view of the parking garage in LF. A nice touch to remind us that fossil fuels rule the land.

(Image removed from quote.)

Nope, I meant the WWI DC Memorial.   It's dedicated to and inscribed with the names of the folks from the District who died in WWI.    You know, the war to end all wars.    At the time the memorial was built, there hadn't been a WWII.     Those youngsters have their own memorial.
