That and the Twins are pretty bad.

That and the strike zone of the great James Joyce.

I don't care who he's facing. This is a good outing from Roark and if it lands us a win then I'll take it. Plus, how many times have pitchers feasted on our hollow bats?

We could lend them Michael A for the day and insert him in every spot in the order.  Roark would therefore only need 27 pitches to get 9 more strikeouts, which would work.
Good point.

Something stupid like always. Indeed he is a  most notable coward, an infinite and endless liar, an hourly promise breaker, the owner of no one good quality.
Methinks thou being a mite harsh-eth ;)

They might be, but only 1 swing away from tying the game.  Which makes our offense pretty close to pretty bad.

Stephen Drew in the 5 hole says a lot.

The strikeout record is 20 by Roger Clemons.

Kerry Wood, Randy Johnson also.

Probably his last inning, 90 pitches.  Too bad.  Bullpen will blow this masterful performance.

Just a day off for Murphy or did he get beheaded?

Almost definitely.  His spot is up next inning.

Why didn't you call him out for typing Roger Clemons?

You haven't been around much so I thought I'd let you have the first crack at him.

Tanner "ACE" Roark...

Nice to have back-to-back quality pitching performances for a change.

But soft!
What pitch in yonder strike zone breaks?
Is this Nolan Ryan I see before me?
Or Tannerio, his visage transform'd
Into new man, of character transform'd alike?
Twelve strikeouts has he on this to-day
A number worthy of Maxwell or Stephen
But Tannerio? One should never have thought on't
Nor it believed, had I not seen it
With mine own very eyes.

What a fantastic outing by Roark.  ERA down in the 2s.  Gotta love this from our 5th starter.

How blest am I
In my just censure! in my true opinion!
Alack, for lesser knowledge! how accurs'd
In being so blest! There may be in the cup
A spider steep'd, and one may drink; depart,
And yet partake no venom (for his knowledge
Is not infected), but if one present
Th' abhorr'd ingredient to his eye, make known
How he hath drunk, he cracks his gorge, his sides,
With violent hefts. I have drunk, and seen the spider.

Stealing what? The first baseman's mitt?  There's not a lot else moveable within reach.
