What they are saying about him, Nova, and Buchholz is that the new luxury tax threshold has some real bite.  You will not see the $12MM+ AAV deals for 3 years you were seeing for #3-4 starters like you were last year.  It probably also means Gio is not tradeable this spring (not that we are going that way now).

If the offer truly was $80M, then yes. But if it was, why did it suddenly disappear after, imo, smaller deals that still left him with a role on that squad? The BJs still would've liked him back.

I'm interested in how quickly the rest of the 1Bers sign now. Guessing Nap goes back to Tejas. Trumbo and Carter... who knows.

Yep, but if you're a us citizen, the double taxation kills you(the exclusion caps out way below even the rookie minimum).

They are. Fortunately the biggest cable company which happens to also be the biggest cell phone company with a national T.V. deal can afford to make up that and the extra taxes. But they don't.

The Salem (OR) Volcanoes, class A affiliate of the SF Giants, play in a stadium that is in the path of totality of the 2017 solar eclipse, and are planning EclipseFest 2017. The nearest the path of totality gets to our area is South Carolina or parts of Georgia so if you're gonna travel to see it, might as well make the trip a doozy. Looks like Salem hotels are close to sold out already (at least the decent ones).
