That said, if a GM feels they're getting back the last piece of the puzzle, I understand that reasoning, even if it's more than I'd pay for that sort of move.

i'd rather move robles than Soto.  I see Soto as a slightly less athletic Oscar Taveras (RIP) with similar bat to ball skills, more power, and a bit less athleticism.

he hasn't fallen in my view.  I love him as a prospect.  I just think he's better served as a blue-chip trade asset for an outfielder either at this deadline or in the offseason when Werth leaves.  Sotot has not reached peak value yet.

Uh, okay.  That's probably an incorrect assumption, but I'll let you enjoy it.  And if you actually attended minor league baseball games, you would probably learn a lot that you don't learn from reading the reports of other people who also don't attend the games. So go on enjoying trying to experience baseball from behind a computer screen.  That seems to be an approach that singularly sucks the joy out of the entire enterprise, but I hope it gets you all jolly and warm.

I don't.  I also think going to the games has some value.  I further think that if you expect to be taken seriously, you should stop posting insane fake trades.  My problem with people who write about minor league prospects they've never actually seen and the grain of salt that has to be taken with their opinions is a problem with them for exaggerating their own authority, not you.

Also, it's a little rich to say "No, but I've read far more on this then (sic) you have" and then complain about someone else sounding condescending.  Glass houses, bud.

They don't, but Robles is the better comp here, really, and recent - international prospect outfielder who excelled at Hagerstown at an unusually young age after tearing up the GCL and NYP the year prior. Too early to tell how he turns out of course.  Soto's numbers right now are better at a younger age, but he also doesn't have the defensive upside that Robles does - Robles plays CF and has the athletic skills necessary to eventually do so very well.

 "Right fielder Juan Soto and infielder Carter Kieboom, two of the organization’s top four prospects, remain on the disabled list. The 18-year-old Soto hasn’t played since injuring his right ankle on a play at the plate on May 2. He was batting .360 with a .950 OPS in 96 plate appearances before the injury. The 19-year-old Kieboom, injured his hamstring on May 12. He was slashing .333/.398/.586 at the time."

If Robles is really untouchable (and given the relievers on the market that's probably a safe bet), you have to think Soto is as good as gone.
