On pace for a 7 WAR season. Not bad ...
It's a tryout so don't get excited.

MLB rookie batters

1. Corey Seager - 6.5 WAR in 120 games
2. Trevor Story - 2.5 WAR in 97 games
3. T. Jankowski - 2.5 WAR in 99 games
4. Aledmys Diaz - 2.4 WAR in 96 games
5. Tyler Naquin - 2.2 WAR in 87 games
6. Trea Turner - 1.6 WAR in 35 games

If he'd been freed and effective a couple months sooner, he'd be a Rookie of the Year candidate.

Can he win ROY next year? I know MLB rules are really weird in that regard.

Maybe.  When exactly  was he called up? The limit is 45 days, but September (i.e.40 man roster) doesn't count.  So, 31 days in August, plus three in June, plus however many days in July (plus some time in 2015, but I can't recall, was that after Sept.1?)

The fun fact from yesterday's game that he now has the same number of steals as Baltimore was awesome.

Even more fun when you consider that he's played 35 games.

The Major League leader in triples is Cesar Hernandez with 9. Turner has 6.

So he is officially a rookie this season and will not be eligible next season for rookie of the year.  Conceivable he could be rookie  of the year this year.   It's a long shot.

How fast do you think Trea got on that catch tonight? Can't wait for the Statcast on that.

Given what Seager and Lindor have done this year, not really. Now if Trea Turner had started the season with the big league club like we all wanted . . .

From the Washington Post:

Turner went 4 for his first 4 on Wednesday before that strikeout. He finished with a streak of eight hits in eight at-bats, which tied a team (and franchise, if you’re an Expos believer) record for hits in consecutive plate appearances. Dmitri Young had eight straight hits from May 31 to June 1 during the 2007 season, when Turner was three years old.

Trea Turner is impressing me more and more, but I had no idea that he was only 12 years old...  That's insane!  What a talent!  I'd say sign him to a 25 year extension right now.

We'd still be in first place and we'd have him one less year?

Dodgers didn't seem to care, but then again, they have fat checkbooks (compared to the Nats poor owners).
