Interesting take on MLB network. Two cycles hit this year, by Turner and Wil Myers who were traded for each other.

Is a cycle really that big of a deal though? I mean its cool and all, but its kind of a weird achievement that doesn't really mean all that much.

Still love The Burner though. Thank you San Diego!

Look at the company he keeps in franchise history, but then consider the amount of times it had actually been done. That's what's cool to me.

They're fun. Grand scheme, doesn't mean much, but in the moment, they're cool. And they needed all those runs...

I'm with you, discussion of cycles bores me, especially when there is breaking news that so-and-so is a Triple Away!   I mean, Turner had 4 hits for ten total bases; that's impressive enough for me.  If it had been 11 total bases (the triple instead another homerun), all the better, except it wouldn't have been nearly as newsworthy.

RFK Stadium, fathers day, I think it was 2006. Nats and Yankees. The face with the walkoff homer and the curly  :w:

Remember that on TV. Was at the game the day before and they had a big late rally to win against the Yankees. Good memories. Was also at the game Angel Pagan had an inside the park homer and started a triple play. Believe it's only be done one other time.

I too was at the Saturday game with the family and watched the Sunday game on tv. It was great seeing all the New Yorkers who had traveled down have to leave broken hearted.  :hysterical:

No hitters/perfect games. 20 strikeout games are more impressive. 4 home run games.

Yes, they are more impressive, but they are the only ones that "mean anything" and deserve to be celebrated?
