Feels weird to see this team get some good luck. Werth should have been out.

I missed the part where Williams came out to talk to Scherzer.   For those of you who do read lips, what did Max say?

EDIT:    I found it in Reply #108

Gotta wonder, event though we won, why someone wasn't pinch running for werth like difo or Espinosa who could have gone into left. I was surprised to see lobaton bat as well

Someone mentioned that Matt was thinking the game could go longer and he wanted to keep Werth in the game   ...   might be mindfacting.

Bad managing then. You had Espinosa and Moore who both could have played LF. Someone should have been running for Werth, who really should have been out at home save for the catcher dropping the ball. The throw beat him.

Just another example of MW failing to remember the team outcome is more important than the player's desire to stay in the game

2013 - 11th September (145th match)
2005 - 15th September (147th match)
2015 - 18th September (147th match)
2011 - 22nd September (155th match)
---
2007 - finished 73-89
2006 - finished 71-91
2010 - finished 69-93
2008 - finished 59-102
2009 - finished 59-103

Ramos had already pinch hit in the 9th and I don't think you want to go to your callup catcher to catch a potential 11th inning (Severino?). Lobaton is a pro and got the job done.  And Werth is a good base runner and has been hitting great lately so you want his bat in the game in case the game extends.  Or do you really want Espinosa or (gasp!) Tyler Moore in a high leverage at bat?  Moore is no speed demon and Espinosa while maybe faster than Werth, is no Billy Hamilton.
