A closer comes in the middle of an inning with the bases loaded and retires the batter. Our mental midgets need ideal situations to get the job done.

Missed pieces of this.   I'm preparing my epistle for the SSA.   How many HRs did the Marlins hit?

Prado and Bour. The Nats should acquire Prado so he doesn't have to play against them

That's an odd question for a baseball message board

Painful. Taylor need a giant improvement before next season. Baseball reference exotraolates Taylor';s numbers to about 17 homers per season, .235 average, 145 K's. Like Ian Desmond playing CF.

Sousa hitting about .215 - .220, 27 homers, same K's.

Joe Ross has looked good. Unless the Nats start Trea Turner, soon, I'm beginning to grumble.

Desmond same as always: 17 homers, .232 average, countless K's, many errors earlier in the year.. Great person, but the "intangibles" haven't contributed to wins. So what if Desmind hit a homer tonight. Start Turner at 2B, Espinosa at SS, Rendon at 3B. Begin to train Espinosa for LF, or spend big for an OF. An OF more like Hayward.

Galah would have had that.
Cardinals fan and a Cubs fan got in the way - I don't hustle after an opposing team HR ball - Werth gave the guy a nasty look but the ball was cleanly over the wall and the guy did not over-reach.
