Big Mets fan, are you?

What a surprise....Desmond watched 2 good pitches, then dove for dogshyte on the 3rd....and then...another surprise...Ramos the lumbering putz, swings futilely at the first pitch and hits into a DP.....izzat the first time these two events have occurred this season...??  not really, which is why this collection of overpaid hackers will finish the season at least 9 behind the Mets, a real MLB team.

That's MVP stuff.

There's still three weeks left but if he finishes strong he should win it easily. He needs to hit 40+ HR, at least .330, and more than 90 RBI... then he's set.

Remember that old Disney sci-fi movie from the early 80's The Black Hole?  That's what I think of every time I see Desmond and Ramos back to back in a lineup.  Just that likely cost us a half dozen games this year.  The bullpen another half dozen, and Williams another.  We should be about 8 games up on the Mets if not for those things.

If the bullpen was average, that would have been enough to overcome everything else. The pen lost it, imo.

You're cranky lately.  You sound like Sportsfan. :D

I want Bryce to win but if you're talking about which player has been more valuable to their team, without Cespedes the Mets aren't in the playoffs, the difference in their offense after acquiring him is staggering, that makes him MVP IMO but I get everyone thinks I'm nuts.

Desi has to be included in that, there were 6 games his errors led to losses and that's not even counting his suckage at the plate.

I bet the pen blew at least 20 games. Well, it seems like it. How many games have the Nats lost after leading after 6 innings? I would love that stat.

I counted him in my original black hole post.  Ramos and E6 have cost us enormously offensively and defensively.

Lost 8 after leading after 7.  But it feels like 38.

Desi is "credited" with 24 errors...several errors were later changed to hits.  The bullpen has sucked of late, but the Nationals are 58-6 when leading after seven. They have not yet lost when leading after eight.

Desmond did more to sink this season than any other individual player.

Thanks for this. But this is shocking to me. I would have bet they lost at least 15 after seven.

There's that long ball PC referenced.    Does that put him ahead of Cespedes for distance?
