When Scherzer had his May-June run of dominance

I think the last dominant game would be Strasburg's first start off the DL against the Rockies (August 8th) where he had 12Ks in 7 innings and only gave up one run.

Oh, I don't disagree. Sometimes there simply is no acceptable strategy.  He has no pen so he has to leave the starter in too long and hope for the best.
