We'll get 'em tomorrow
That's baseball.

I still think the Nats will go on a little run and the Mets will slide some.  That will give us some false hope and then they fill fall short and crush our hopes. It would be too easy on us to have them eliminated early.

The lineup that played tonight is not winning playoff games but a fully healthy and locked-in Zim, Werth, and Rendon would go a long way towards doing that.

Playoffs?  Playoffs?

They are on earbuds with Schwab discussing the currencies outlook and don't need the distraction. A million a night is a heavy responsibility.
I have only seen that chemistry a few times this year. Mostly they look stoic, tight, uninterested, bored, emotionless...

Hard to be in a rhythm when every third or fourth day is a day off.  Matt Williams has created a "bench effect" for Werth, Rendon, and Zim.  It will take significantly longer for them to find their swings with all the off days because that time off does not compound linearly.  Slowing progress compounds exponentially with days off.  But hey, great lineup change today.  Got your 5 runs but had no one to hit off the bench who was used to doing that in key spots.  Look, Werth, Rendon, and Zim may be struggling but they are going to have to get hot for us to do anything and that is going to require everyday ABs.  The lineup that played tonight is not winning playoff games but a fully healthy and locked-in Zim, Werth, and Rendon would go a long way towards doing that.  Too bad it won't happen because the manager isn't prioritizing getting them going over the marginal injury risk that comes with returning and playing every day.
No one is locking anything in. Zimmerman is regressing in recent days and striking out on everything. Werth and Rendon are so far gone they may as well take the rest of the season off.

The lineup that played tonight kept us in 1st place. freak the other guys. Werth and Zim are on the decline and it is only going to get worse. I agree with Rendon playing more, but he's just as lost as the other two.

We should just worry about ourselves like Rendon said, cause they don't seem to be worry about winning games anyway.

The bullpen just bleeds runs any time we are trying to come back. This has happened all season. They never keep the score intact.

Rizzo's arrogant self believed that we would have a great bullpen even though we lost Clippard, Soriano, Stammen, etc and made no moves to address the glaring hole.

They win. We don't. Maybe they should take some notes.

Karma coming back to get a douchebag.  Giles has seven saves since Paps has come to the Nats. Not quite as close to the record as he hoped.  I predict that the Nats will be better next year only for him to regress and blow several saves. Soriano revisited.

RZO's fault. That trade was the start of the end, in retrospect.

Exactly, although I still have hope for Anthony I guess just due to him being younger but Werth and Zim? They look too old to suddenly figure out how to start hitting again :(

Yep.  Needed an eighth inning guy and one more bat.  So he got a closer and messed with everyone's head and especially Storen. And no additional bat.  Meanwhile the Mets added three bats and Clippard. Of course we don't get rentals cause we are so superior we don't need them

Every night, FP says "They have to keep it tied....They have to keep it one run...They have to keep it two runs..."

...and the bullpen always gives up runs.

Romo's slider has been real good. He has a 4 ERA
