Rizzo will make a move. I've watched his work. He's a tough guy who doesn't accept baloney. Right now, the bullpen, the hitting, and the starting pitchers (except for Strasburg, maybe Gio, and maybe Ross) are baloney.
Rizzo will not tolerate this. Old man Lerner wants a World Series. He has the money and he runs things. His memory goes back to Joe Cronin, Goose Goslin, and the Old Fox, Clark Griffith. Old man Lerner might not be as base-ball smart as the Old Fox, and neither is Rizzo, but the Lerners the have money that Griff did not.
There will be changes...don't know what, but the Lerners are not cheap, and Mr. Lerner does not have many years left to wait for his World Series. Heck, Mr. Lerner grew up watching Buddy Lerner, pound-for-pound one of the toughest ballplayers ever. (That's from George Case II, CF who played on teams with Myer).
My Dad was almost Mr. Lerner's age. I know how that generation thought. A few of us lived and died for the 1955 - 1960 Senators / Nats. I'm getting old, to my surprise, and mean -- also to my surprise...used to be pleased with a .500 or so Nationals. No longer.
Mark this: when Welch, who saw his first game in 1964, who saw many games in 1959, who cheered the 1960 team -- when I've lost patience than the Nats have to change -- a lot.
