Went to game there years ago and had a nice time.

This team is what it is: a talented but streaky and ultimately soft team. It was good enough to win a couple of division titles, but it won't do anything more. We could still end up winning the division this year, the Mets aren't that good either and are probably due for a cold streak, but we won't do anything in October. I mean the past two weeks showed it clearly. When the going gets tough, this team folds. Good front running team, that's it.

This team reminds me of the late 90s/early 00s Bucaneers of the NFL. All the talent in the world, but paper soft when it mattered most. They ended up winning the Super Bowl when they hired firey as hell Jon Gruden. We need someone with that combination of fire and intensity while also having baseball smarts and ingenuity. Matt Williams has neither.

I don't wanna beat the dead horse but  ..   I will.         Williams and Rizzo (to a lesser degree) are by the book guys.   They don't appear to be able to adapt to unscripted moments.    Whether it's cybermetrics, bringing in a reliever, etc., if it ain't in the book, they flounder and start trying to baffle us with bullcrap.    There is an argument to be made about not airing laundry in public but Rizzo has to have Williams on his mind.
