It's nice to see the Russians have eclipsed the English hooligans as the worst fans in the world.

I am pleased that Ireland has a Seamus in the starting lineup.

I expected Zlatan to feast on ROI, but the paddies could easily be a couple goals up by now.  Impressive.

Two Swedes collide with their heads and amazingly they both didn't go down in a fitful heap...

a couple - Roy, Robbie, probably some others hiding out in the peat somewhere.

Roy was a bit of a dick when he bailed on the 2002 ROI World Cup squad.  They made it to the knockouts despite that before losing to Spain on PKs.

I chuckled at that move.    Same team  ....  didn't even stumble.    Opposing team even in proximity and everybody's on the ground in their death thross.

This speaks volumes about the density of Swedish heads.

Mexico down to Venezuela 1-0.  If they lose they will probably play Argentina in quarterfinals--ruh-oh!

The Hungarian goalie looks like like humpty dumpty in sweatpants, and he's about to see his guys through to 3 points.

Hungary/Austria is like a vicious spat between exes who broke up in 1918

The soccer in these Cups seems so much better than the last World Cup. Teams actually trying to score.

The team isn't looking so great against Slovakia either...2-0 at the half...

Being all but eliminated should make their travelling fans even more pleasant.  They play Wales in their third (and probably last) game.
