So what about technology.  The technology exists to pitch from a machine as well.

The calling of balls & strikes adds a level of excitement that would only be detrimental to the fan enjoyment if balls/strikes were automated.


You think players, coaches, and fans constantly nagging about balls and strikes is exciting?
