Heyman was beyond awesome, thought the shield would confront Brock though.

Shield is about to Cross The Boss....

and it'll be glorious.

this has been a fantastic RAW.

Awesome ending (even the 3mb chant before the shield came out).

I loved the singing of The Real American song... and the 'John Cena Suuuuuuucks' to Cena's theme. Reminded me of the Kurt Angle days.

Zeb Coulter squaring off against Paul Heyman is going to be very enjoyable.

Fantastic Raw overall, though. Evolution is back! And Bad News Barrett may be getting a push!! Also, Paige coming out was great. It's even cooler that the majority of the crowd knew who she was. NXT is such a great idea.

WWE released numbers for its network, total penetration is about 670k homes, well short of the 1 million they needed to break even.  From here on out, growth is expected to be slow as it's post-wrestlemania season.  There are reports that they may pull PPVs off the network, and raise the price next year.  The stock price has crashed, falling from around $29 to around $22 this week so far.

This doesn't bode well for other sports who are considering leaving PPV and creating their own network (e.g. UFC).  With overall PPV numbers dropping, and streaming services not providing a replacement source of income, it's going to be a tough go for wrestling/boxing for the immediate future.  WWE is bidding out its television package right now, those negotiations just became a lot more important.

Ultimate Warrior has passed away.

He didn't look that good last night but I didn't think he was that close.

Holy crap. It's true.

http://www.wwe.com/inside/ultimate-warrior-passes-away-26223975

Unbelievable.

You were expecting me to post fake news?

Last night would certainly make for an interesting eulogy if he knew he was sick or took his own life... All the stuff about Warrior living on through the fans. Almost like he knew.

Just found it hard to believe.  Suicide wouldn't be surprising.

EXACTLY what I thought the first I heard it.   That speech on Monday night was almost cryptic.

His speech on Monday was really prophetic. It was like raising himself to another level type crap. Damn. That guy is a legend.

That said, his grunts and yelling sounded awful.

It's a really sad and tragic story, even more so because he had just come back into the public eye; I guess the saving grace is that he made his peace with the WWE and finally got the recognition he deserved.  But it's yet another name in a long list of wrestlers who died way too young.

It is scary how young these guys are dying. Like, what if it actually has something to do with the program and guys that are in their 30s right now die 20 years from now?

In other news, to lighten the mood, here is my fantasy baseball team name with my team logo to go with it:

Oh You Didn't Rizzo? Veras Better Call Somebody

What do you guys think? I have four cubs on my team... granted I am in an NL Only league but still.

It can't be good to combine the high weights these guys have, the steroid use of 80s and 90s, the nightly pounding, travel, etc...  These guys probably do most of their conditioning with weights and probably relatively little aerobic conditioning.  I can't imagine this is good for the heart.

Not to mention the Cocaine and other drugs not to mention alcohol. There was a lot of hard living for those guys.

yep - Rock (UW) and Flash (Sting), the Blade Runners.  Here's what Sting posted:

Quote
Mourning the loss of Jim Hellwig. I don't believe anyone has ever published this picture before today. The snapshot was taken two days before Thanksgiving in 1985, as we prepared to leave my house in Newhall, California and embark on a career in wrestling.
Jim always challenged me to strive at being the best, and I'll forever be grateful for the encouragement and motivation he provided.
I was looking forward to catching up with him, and I'm saddened we didn't have that opportunity before he passed. My heart goes out to his wife Dana and their two daughters, and they will remain in my prayers.
