Why ?
Why would MLB make the Lehner's sell the team ?
What would that fix ?

MLB should make the Lerner's sell the team...that would fix everything...

Asked about reports he will be fired, Matt Williams said he has not heard anything about his future yet.

Soon enough Matt.  You'll hear soon enough.

Maybe when he's presented with the decision, he'll tear it up and demand one more year  ...  a la Werth.

Only fair. Maybe this will show Matt how important communication is.

Only because he doesn't read the papers...or Jon Heyman.

It'd be funny if he came in and just didn't have a locker, and Danny Espinosa was standing there to say, "Not fun, is it?"

I get an uneasy feeling that Knorr is essentially a Riggleman or worse, Acta.

If the dysfunction that svrgula wrote about is true that means Knorr is either a yes man or an incompetent like Williams. Rizzo needs to clean out the whole lot and let the new manager bring his own people with him.

I would like to see them clean house also but Knorr gets a pass from me this year after his wife died.

Sounds like Knorr was trying to make up for all of Williams' shortcomings (Calming people down and not making anything worse).  He was put in a terrible situation, and I kind of just want him promoted.

Where was he for the Thornton situation?

Probably begging Williams to stop.

This could be true, but I don't think it's worth finding out.  A full house cleaning is in order.

...and long overdue.  Never thought much of McCatty...though I do like Tarasco...

Or, Williams completely disregarded any input for so long that he gave up trying to make meaningful contributions.  After all, Matt isn't really noted for soliciting input and considering it.  Rather, he already knows it all.

Agree.

I don't.  It creates the tone of a plant or spy, someone who reports what's going on with the coaching staff to Rizzo.  It also has to be a bit unnerving to the manager to be looking at your possible replacement when and if the mood strikes the GM since the manager didn't bring him onboard.

I don't want Knorr. I want to go full on new staff. Fire everyone. I like McCatty but fire him too. Bring in a retread with some winning experience, that's the formula to win WS titles.

Mike Rizzo said decisions about the season will be finalized sooner than later. "We're not gonna let people twist in the wind."

Agreed, the new manager should be able to select his coaching staff.

Yep, I think that hamstrung Williams from the get go.    Probably wouldn't have mattered but a manager should have his own guys with him.   Leyland, or somebody like that, wouldn't have bought into that Rizzo plan.     Probably wouldn't have been asked to buy into it.
