Here's another, from Chris Haft about Bochy. Recognize any contrast with "Standard Decision" Williams?

"Where other managers might stick with a starter for a little bit longer because that’s just what they do, well no, look at Game Seven last year, Hudson’s gone after four outs, five outs."

If the Nats do change the manager, for goodness sake, please hire Dave Martinez.

  Weren't you, like me, also begging for the Nats to get Cespedes at the trade deadline?  If so, you and I should be co-gm's at this point  8)

A co-gm position would still allow for movies and bowling.

Of the ex-players, I'm most curious about Pudge Rodriguez.

I wasn't begging to get him, but I wouldn't have minded it. I'm still the guy that gets fleeced for wanting the DH in the NL, so you might not want to have me as co-GM.  :mg:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dc-sports-bog/wp/2015/08/26/bashing-matt-williams-is-becoming-the-national-pastime/

“Matt Williams is a horrific tactician,” Sheehan concluded. “He’s presided over the collapse of any number of Nationals this year. He’s picked fights with his best player in the past. If there’s some body of evidence that he’s a soothsayer or a leader of men, it’s well-hidden. There is just no reason to keep him around. It is almost never a good idea to fire a manager midseason, but this case is an exception.”

Be sure to read the comments on that one. Yates basically faces critics head on with a 'my bad,' thick skin attitude. Rare these days.

I saw that.   It was a good call for any reporter to admit an error.

I'm thinking Rizzo is too situationally aware to do that.

He wrote 'Nats 10th season' instead of '10th year.' Predictably, this was enough for someone to light into him.

Old Standard Decision's explanation of the Yunel 3-0 green light was the apex of his idiocy.  He says Escobar is hitting .308 and hitting fifth in the order, it is the way we play, we do it with just about everybody in the lineup.

OK, if you do it with just about everybody and do it all the time, why is it relevant that Escobar is .308 and hitting 5th?  Also, I think they flashed during the game that Yunel is .250 with men in scoring position.

Rechecked - .250 with RISP, 8 BB in 8 PA on 3-0 (no hits), 1 for 7 after 3-0 with 13 BB.
