Maybe he needs a new pitching or bench coach?

Rizzo needs to do what KC did for Yost: Make it idiot proof

He he had made full, actual eye contact with Scherzer I think Max would have gone straight alpha dog and ripped his throat open.

He asked Scherzer one question: “You want him?” Williams said he “wanted to make sure I looked him in the eye.

Which one, I wonder?

7 CLOSERS R U KIDDING ME?

12 closers.  No rotation.

You pitch 9 of your closers in each of 9 innings.  Rest the three who threw the most the next day, and do it all again.

"He's our 2nd inning guy."

Why not have 9 starters who throw 3 innings every 3 games ?

Why not get 25 mixed pitcher-position players, who can pitch or play any position at any given time? The ultimate roster flexibility.

I'm kind of disappointed that the link posted in error from the clipboard is a product page from Home Depot and not pictures.

I missed this because I was watching the Marlins feed but this shows Max coming off the field after the 7th giving Matt an absolute death stare as he ignores Matt's attempt to fist bump him, he was as annoyed with Matt as some of us have been throughout this year

Nah, he looked at Matt, saw nothing, then turned away, at which point Matt offered the fist bump.  Belatedly.  Matt can't manage fist bump timing any better than he can pitching changes.

Actually, he screamed something at Matt.  It's unlikely he would have seen Matt's hand.  Scherzer was in rut.

Someone on twitter theorised that he said "Thank you."  Sarcasm or not is up for debate as well.

The Orioles actually did that for one game in the late 80's.  A fan wrote Roland Hemond and suggested they try it, based on maximizing effectiveness.  They used three pitchers for three innings each, and they won the game.

No it doesn't Mike. Pay no attention to the punk, assed, nag. Go with your instincts.  :judge:

Much as I like Harper, I'm with you, on this matter he is a punk-assed nag.

"“Truly, I love him as a manager. Flat out I absolutely do. If I didn’t, everybody would know. Absolutely everybody would know. I’m not shy to say things.”

Truly, I think he's insincere.

Surely there are players on the team he doesn't like and doesn't want on the team.  By his logic, absolutely every one of us would know who they are.

Traditional GM answer to question: Rizzo praises Harper, Zimmerman, and Werth, says he "listens" to them. Does not mean Rizzo and the Lerners will do what the players want, or say they want. It is likely, of course, that a decision will be made about Williams once the season is over, but we all knew that just as we knew that the Nats might negotiate with the soon-to-be free agents.

Means nothing.

In fact, when has Rizzo ever told the press anything before he did it?
