Mindfact...

We have him under contract on the cheap for 2 more years and it would be stoopid to trade him...
Only through next season. He is vastly over performing. If you can get something for him, do it.

It's not a mindfact.  He's a 33 year-old infielder with declining defensive ability whose having his best offensive campaign in four years.  He's the definition of a trade candidate

He's the definition of what this team needs...a solid performer.  We have damned few of those as it is...

You have to admit that he's having an abnormally great year.  He's not likely to repeat this.

Yep. Three seasons prior he was hitting .256/.318/.350

I'm putting money on PEDs

He seems to have the "one up, three down" pattern going....

Except he's a good hitter when healthy. Frankly, Taylor is not.

Is he not healthy right now? If not, he should be on the DL

Oh, because it is after 7/31, you can only trade JZ if he is put on revocable waivers and passes through both leagues or if you make a deal within a short window of time with the team that is awarded his claim.  The likelihood of JZ passing through both leagues is near zero.  About the only contender in the NL who would not put in a claim for him would be the Mets.  He's a substantial upgrade for the bottom of any other contender's rotation.  IF he get to the AL, every AL East contender other than the Rays will claim him.  So you will be left to work a deal with just one club, max.  A trade could happen, but it's not like there would be a bidding war among teams.

He's pitching a lot better since blowing the game in the first.

Looks a lot like Scherzer's start the other night.  We seem to have a bunch of number 3 starters now.

Amazing what it's come to. Historically great rotation to start the season.  Now, not a single pitcher, NOT ONE,  who when he pitches you believe we're going to win.

If we had the 1969 Washington Senators pitching staff we would have run away with the division.

With Stras hurt again, I'd say yes. Or at least, he's our most consistent.

can't believe they're pulling this stupid move again after it did nothing to make Strasburg any healthier, though some of that is because Strasburg is simply a p****
