I loved Ryan Church as well. Always seemed like people focused too much on what he couldn't do instead of focusing on what he could do.

We always had much bigger problems, so I never understood why any of the focus was on him.

In a classic early Nats move, they sent him to the minors at the beginning of the 2006 season after a rookie season where he put up a 118 OPS+ for Brandon Watson, who ended up having a .385 ops in 9 games, because Watson "won the job in spring training".

It was a dark time.

Also, wasn't Trout awful last October?

I think 29 teams passed on Trout...wasn't he a 2nd round pick?

Concussions can cause brain injury. Fortunately for Church there wasn't much brain to injure.

As the rest of the team struggles, Harper's WAR continues to rise (likely due to the % runs created for the team, since RAA is used for fWAR). Defense has been better lately, too.

Don't like that Harps keep chirping about umpires and strike zones after the game. Just shut up and play. You think the ump will give him any benefit of the doubt tonight?
