This is gross.  This really the worst offensive performance over 4 innings that I have ever seen.  Harper?  really?

Bryce is so out of his depth against Lirioano and that is a concern he clearly doesn't want to take his walk because he knows he won't get past 1st
I think he is being aggressive  because of that but he isn't out of his depth. Liriano just has his A+ movement  right now. It wasn't a month ago he hit a homer off Liriano.

They haven't come close to getting a hit all night.  Not close.

You don't do nice in a Nats game day thread.
I think sayhey was being nice.   Wonder if he remembers Mays at the Polo Grounds.

You know, this is rock bottom for the lineup.  I can deal with an offensive performance like this knowing that it can't possibly get worse.

Kershaw perfect through 5 vs Mets.

They all need to stop swinging.  Just stand there.  Liriano isn't even throwing strikes.

And it's only 1-0.  :hang:

FP strikes again.

"Doug Fister's getting loose!" (after his 75th pitch in the 4th inning). Next pitch gets laced for a double.

Just stop, FP

For all who were 10 - 12 year old kids in Washington in 1959, this date was about the third loss in the Nats' monumental 19 game losing streak. Lost to Jim Bunning and the Tigers 11 - 2, although Bob Allison hit his 26th homer in the 9th. Hal Woodeshick took the loss. Gave up six runs in five innings; Tex Clevinger followed and gave up five runs in 1/3 of an inning. Lavagetto used starter Russ Kemmerer to pitch the last 2 2/3 innings.

Auspicious day. Each year in late July, when the streak started, I start "Moby Dick", "War and Peace", or similar long book. Decided this year I'll read a 900 page biography of Emily Dickinson. Better than watching Nats' outfielders playing the bounces off the OF walls.

They are wearing out that Allegheny Health Network gap.  Every hit they've gotten seems to be there.

Jupiter's Cock! Fister is on his way to a "quality start" and yet we have no shot because of this offense. :bang:

Chose to watch Kershaw vs. Colon instead of this...looking like a good choice so far.

I was about to hound Desi for that awful swing at a pitch in the dirt, then he broke up the no-no
