BREAKING: Tulo traded to #BlueJays.

HOLY CRAP.  OMFG.  the jays (my second favorite team), finally get the player they should have drafted rather than that pathetic hump that they did!!  AND, they get rid of 'reyes', too!!

WIN-WIN !!!!

Sources: #Rockies owner Dick Monfort had told Tulo that he would not be traded A) w/o being consulted and B) to place he didn’t want to go.

Will be interesting to hear Tulo’s reaction. As others have mentioned, he might not be enthusiastic about playing on turf in Toronto.

This guy summarizes how I feel:

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/mets-buy-low-and-high-on-tyler-clippard/

Clippard probably could have saved the game cited, which would put them one game back, not 2 right now.

Choosing WAR today over future WAR can be smart. And the Mets have lots of young pitchers.

It very well could be the move that makes that tiny bit of difference.

You missed the part where two talent evaluators called it an overpay. Just because it is a position of strength for the Mets doesn't make it a good trade and only weakens their ability to add a shortstop, left or centerfielder which are positions of greater need.

Mets reportedly not interested in Jose Reyes. Already turned him down when he was being shopped by Toronto. $$$ is the problem.

I have to assume he's staying in Colorado. He's cheaper than Tulo.

Wasn't worth anything without Clippard, or Reddick maybe. Zobrist is not the big bat the Nats need for the playoffs. We have to hope that big bat comes out of Werth and Rendon. I'm fearful for Span and pessimistic about Zim. Escobar and Danny, and perhaps a resurgent Desi plus HArper would be enough I think with Werth and Rendon added.

If not then ride our pitching through October, the Giants hit like absolute crap last year and every year they won the World Series, they just get mystic and flukey with their pitching. So do that and win.

Seriously.  Where is he going to play?  Do the Dodgers know they can't use the DH?

Per Rosenthal, the deal is done.  Dodgers also get Competitive Balance Pick #34 from the Marlins in exchange for the Dodgers paying Morse's and Latos's entire salaries.

They'll cut him like they did Ryan Webb.

Irony:

The Los Angeles Dodgers - owners of the largest payroll in all of MLB; north of $270 MM - receive a "Competitive Balance Pick."
