Jayson Stark:

"#Cubs now shopping Castro aggressively.  Fox Sports had previously reported had previously reported that his name had surfaced in talks with #Padres."

And Maddon told Castro man-to-man that he would absolutely not be traded...   :lmao:

The Yankees are set to acquire outfielder Dustin Ackley from the Mariners, reports the YES Network’s Jack Curry (All Twitter links). Outfield prospect Ramon Flores is headed to Seattle, as will right-hander Jose Ramirez, according to Curry. Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News had previously connected the Yankees to Ackley.

Flores has a good chance to stick around in the majors long-term and Ramirez has good stuff but poor command. Both are profiles that NYY has lots of, worth losing two to take a flyer on Ackley.

Pirates acquire Tigers closer Joakim Soria.

One less for us for the 7th inning, but I think I like Benoit a lot better anyway, Soria has given up a few blown saves, in a particularly bad way too, multi-run big comebacks capped by homers, etc.

Rubs hands with glee - my dynasty al roto league team has Bruce Rondon, Shawn Tolleson, Wade Davis, and Glen Perkins, and only perkins is expensive!  Plus Keuchel and McCullers; Erasmo for $1.

Looks like David Price for Daniel Norris, a.k.a. the hobo in the van down by the river.

I wanna know if he was pulling that van stunt when he was playing here.

Hats off to the BJays for going all in.

They are .500, in 3rd place, and two teams back for the second wild card.

If this doesn't pay off, everyone in Canada is going to crap bricks.

Meanwhile, #Mets didn’t think Tulo was available, then backed off on Gomez. Also hearing possibility of Bruce, as mentioned by @Buster_ESPN.

Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal  now

If #Mets get Bruce - and it is very much an “if” - Granderson likely would move from RF to CF and Lagares would become late-inning reserve.

When they told Carlos Gomez he was finally traded he asked, "Is this the real one?"
