Frank Howard would have had it.

He wouldn't have had to jump.

Just because it worked doesn't mean it was a smart move. I am sure Max would have gotten him out also. He could have had Storen start the ninth if he wanted him him.
It's usually a smart move to bring in your top 5 NL reliever for the 9th inning of a two run game.

Just got home from vacation today. Managed to hear the last out on the car ride home from the airport. Awesome to take 2/3 from the Os going into the break. F Baltimore.

I'm a lonely crusader, there are too many targets and not enough ammunition.    Sigh.

XM was my only option for today's game and i have to say Joe Angel is an awful broadcaster. I poke fun, like a lot of you, at Carpenter, but Angel at least a couple of times called infield pop outs as fly balls.

Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 48th win, each season:

2005 - 1st July (79th match of season)
2012 - 5th July (80th match)
2014 - 6th July (87th match)
2015 - 12th July (87th match)
2013 - 14th July (95th match)
2011 - 18th July (96th match)
2006 - 1st August (107th match)
2007 - 2nd August (108th match)
2010 - 4th August (108th match)
2008 - 27th August (133rd match)
2009 - 10th September (140th match)

...and, now at the All-Star break, a big curly W to PC for pinch-hitting on these on days when I've been unavailable.
