Was good to see Ross dominate, but being only a two pitch P is still a bit scary. He'll probably end up being shifted over to the bullpen come October, which is fine you only need four starters in the playoffs anyway.

He looked good two weeks ago against Seattle to, and I was excited, and then he followed that with two complete duds.  He looked even better last night, though, so I'm holding out hope he's finally figured something out and can follow it up with another good start.  His velocity still seemed lower, but it didn't hinder his effectiveness, so maybe he has to learn to pitch with his fastball closer to 91 than 94.  Seems like you'd need a third pitch to make it work, but it seems like he's completely abandoned the change up.  And the heavy reliance on the slider was supposedly what landed him on the DL last year.  He's much more valuable as a starter if he can make it work, but like others I worry he's eventually bound for the bullpen if only has two effective pitches.

I came here to suggest he's always good the first time against teams, so that's why he was good against Seattle and Baltimore and was good in 2015...until I remembered Oakland. Whoops.
