As bad as Desmond's error was, the Cub hitter (Russel???) hit a bomb that shot the gap and the runner likely scored from first anyway.



Except, if the runner had been on first, the out field is playing no doubles and that's a pop fly.

Oh well, can't win every close game. We got Scherzer today. Let's get another series win.

Escobar got a great jump when the pitcher moved his leg towards home, he should have been awarded third, and he should have argued more. I hate instant replay but in this case it sucks that balks are excluded.
