Nats, Heat, Dolphins, Caps, Mason basketball in that order. Half ticket for each city I call home.

Ugh.

So torn.

One of my players from my team is at the Phillies game tonight (he and his GF are big Phillies fans) and he's going to pop the question via the big scoreboard.  I'm really rooting for the guy and I think she'll say yes anyway, but...  Is it o.k. to root for the Phillies for just one night so their evening can be a perfect one?  I mean, I still hate the Phillies and am loving the fact that they are harmlessly behind our miserable group of underachievers, so can I root for them for just one night?  How about if I promise to take a detox shower afterward?

What about just being ambivalent about them for the evening?

I could try.  But this is a really good dude (despite his affinity for the Phillies) and he's a great ballplayer who I'd like to have play for us again next year.

Well, I mean, you've got to do what you've got to do, then. I hope that he knows your disdain for the Phils to know that ambivalence is as good cheering for them for a night. ;)

If the Nats were in the playoffs, I'll root hard against the Pirates.

I don't pull for any team other than mine.
