Our pitching staff loves serving up 2-out rallies to the other team :hang:

No surprise they are lighting him up. center-cut 87 mph fastballs down the middle. It has been a troubling decline for Fister.

GB% down 7% from last year and 13% from his last year with the Tigers. K/9 down from 5.38 to 4.06. Losing lots of money.

He must have sat next to Strasburg on the flight.

He's just not a great pitcher.  He pitches far above his peripherals because of the Nats' typically good infield defense.  There's a reason his FIP was above 4 last year.

Edit: excuse me, it was 3.93

He's not getting groundballs this year like he was last year.

yea I don't have a clue what FIP is but he seemed like a really, really good pitcher last year.

At least the ball is flying tonight.  No excuse not to crush Ross.
how do you figure, he is actually a good pitcher. 10.62 K/9, 3.34 xFIP. Walks have been up this year but otherwise he is really tough. We needed to win a low scoring pitchers duel.

He's not getting groundballs this year like he was last year.

But he's not giving up any additional fly balls.  It's his LD% that's up.  Doubles all up and down the field.

His command is way off this year, and he's not getting as many swing & misses.  Last year, his K-BB ratio was 4.08, this year, not even half that at 1.89.

Looks like Harp is back to swinging at crap again.

Huh?

Measure of a pitcher based on things he himself controls - namely strikeouts, walks, and homeruns.  Often modified to give context of hard contact%, GB%, etc.

I'll wait to make judgment until we at least get a baserunner.

Nope. He pitched well but definitely had a lot of luck last year and the results were very fortunate.

Unsustainable .262 BABIP, 83.1 LOB% also outside of career norms. His numbers are trending downward across the board.
