Do wasp stings hurt more than Yellow Jackets Tom?

I have wasps all over my deck, they are pretty passive, though. Worried about one of them getting the kid.

Yellow Jackets are super aggressive.

Wasps have a comfort zone - if you move too close, they hit you.  In this case, I probably touched it without seeing it, my backpack is a similar dark color.  The last time I was under a low nest that was probably less than 18" over my head, too close for them to tolerate.

I have seen wasps attack en mass, so I wouldn't leave them around where you child might be.  All that being said, totally agree that yellow jackets are far more aggressive.  And their numbers far more numerous in any given nest.

Yellow jackets are wasps.

That's technically true, and I couldn't tell you what specific species got me, but it's a common brown wasp you see all over the DC region under almost any eave.  Yellow jackets are primarily found in holes in the ground, though I did find a humongous nest inside the wall of my house when I had deck replaced with a porch.  I knew there was a nest inside the porch light fixture, so a couple of days before construction started I sprayed the fixture so the construction guys wouldn't get stung.

Well, when they tore the drywall down inside the space they discovered a huge nest - 18" long and about 6" wide - inside where the electric wire ran.  Those little bastards had a FAR more extensive next and much larger population than I had ever guessed.  If I had not sprayed and the had broken into the wall there, there would have been 500 yellow jackets angry and loose in the house.  Oh man, what a disaster that would have been.

Uh .... where is there a pond worth fishing near Fair Oaks?

Adjacent to Alder Woods, across the street from the Sunrise Assisted Living.  It's a small pond and access is difficult with the vegetation grown in, but there are a few spots you can reach the water.  I biked there in May or so and the shallows by the drain had dozens of sunfish beds, with nice large sunnies and bass stalking them around the edges.  Plenty of fish in that little pond.

What you call the black ones I see as dark brown but I think we're talking the same little bastards.  Yellow jackets are pretty small, like a skinny little honey bee.

Can't you order it without hardware now and then pick your own?

I've had IKEA in my rental unit through a revolving door of tenants for the past 8 years with no problems. Still looks nice, and surprisingly solid construction. The soft-closing hinges are a nice touch.

Aren't IKEA cabinets basically cardboard?

Real wood is probably out of your budget.

Yep, but like mds said real wood is probably out of your budget (even if it's not, that's not the kind of thing you'll get your money back on unless you have a really nice condo, and there are better place to.stretch your budget like appliances and blenders)

That's kind of what I was thinking. I mean, how else can I justify the $400 blender

But are IKEA cabinets going to hold up over the next five years?
