Whoever Grichuk is, he's as bad as players the Nationals had in the bad old days.

Everyone keep on believing Jason Heyward is going to hit sometime soon. The guy must have the BEST publicist. 107 OPS+ In his last 2300+ major league PA, but hey - back up the money truck!

Are the Cards out of bench players?  Why wouldn't you pinch hit in that spot?

Agreed.  I think people remember that he and Stanton came up at the same time and were often compared to each other.  Heyward plays elite defense but his bat is below average.

They look timid and pathetic. Pretty much a punchless offense and average starting pitching. No one that scares you. No Adam Wainwright, no Shelby Miller.

Pretty soon this whole NL East watch will be done superimposed with the words "Objects are closer than they appear" across it.

No. Pretty soon the objects in our rearview mirror will not be closer than they appear because we are going to run away with the division.

Mayberry Jr. is a K candidate but not much of a GIDP one.

damn. pretty dumb loss. The National League sucks. If the Nationals don't make it to the WS this year I don't know when they ever  will. Dodgers and Cardinals are flawed teams.

The Cardinals are literally never going to do anything even remotely good for the Nats.

I thought he actually looked pretty average tonight. Got some lucky breaks, plus the Rox just waving at 'em. Terrible AB's all around

The Marlins are the Redskins of the MLB. What a mess in South Florida, they should move to Montreal.

Their roster has a lot of nice young pieces. The organization is so dysfunctional.

Check that one off the list.  Now what do you think?   2 game series with the Yankees now isn't exactly conclusive.  Unless we win, in which case it is very telling.    8)

On one hand I was impressed and surprised by the way we dominated the Padres, but on the other hand, I had no idea that their pitching would be that bad.

Yankees pitching isn't very good.  I suppose I'm not going to be convinced that this team is World Series ready until we win a series from the Giants, Cardinals, or Dodgers.

Haven't we done well against the Dodgers historically?  Cards and Giants are usually a struggle, but I thought we had LA's number.  I'm lazy, so I'll leave it as a mindfact instead of digging up the answer :)

Cards find a way to win these type of games in October. You know they'll be a threat.
