So if Span gets on, E-in can swing for the fences and not get crushed for it...  :hysterical:

Down by 2, one on, 2 outs my light is greener than this stash I'm gonna have to dig into.

Gotta catch the Barves first.

Thanks...thought I was seeing double for a moment there...  ;)

Fister didn't exactly have a quality start, SF...
He's been terrible this year but at least the team was tied in the 8th inning and Matt insisted on using Treinen who has been arguably our worst reliever.

What a bullcrap unnecessary loss just because they are obsessed with Treinen in the set-up role. Matt is too stubborn. Treinen has a super long leash.

It's not like there were any more runs coming.

Not concerned with them. Terrible lineup and rotation. They will finish only ahead of Philly.

The Mets on the other hand have some magic going. This is a special team , folks. Scary

Before this start he'd only given up 1 run...how is that terrible?

"I wouldn't make too much of that." - Matt on Treinen.

freaking stupid. It's not about the bounces, Matt. He doesn't fool anybody with his stuff. Too hittable.

It's a player defending cliche! So surprising.

Why anyone watches manager interviews is beyond me.

In the past five years, 16 teams have won at least ten games in a row. Thirteen such teams made the playoffs and 15 won at least 83 games.

One of those teams was the 2008 Mets, how'd they finish up?

Martin is money.  He's struck out what now, eight?  Eight of his last ten batters?  His fastball appears to play much harder than it actually is and it moves too.  He looks like he'll be a big piece going forward.

I love how SF never replies to posts that prove he's totally WRONG

So far this year Fister is 1-0 with a better ERA than he had last year.

Doug Fister 2014: 3.93 FIP, 3.85 xFIP, 48.9 GB%, 5.38 K/9, 1.32 BB/9 .262 BABIP
Doug Fister 2015: 4.70 FIP, 4.91 xFIP, 45.2 GB%, 3.79 K/9, 3.32 BB/9 .231 BABIP

Yes it is still early but Fister has NOT been good this season so far. Walks up, Ks down, less ground balls. .231 BABIP unsustainable as well.

Three starts.  You can't really use stats that rely on large sample sizes over such a small sample.  For example, if he had literally two more strikeouts this year his K/9 would look pretty comparable to last year.  He's had three starts and he was bad in one of them.  It's not a big deal.

Ah.  Must be a new guy because you're unfamiliar with the ways of the sportsfan882.  His most famous quote:

How can I prove it? I don't see why I need to anyways. I don't care what anyone thinks. It is a fact in my mind.

Good luck arguing with a guy who lives by that motto.

:lmao: SF trying to use predictive stats based on 19 innings. Gosh what a loon. He gave up one run in two starts before yesterday.
