I've been watching the Cubs/Pirates since our game ended and it's really something. Tune in!

Wow.  The Astros have really faded. Looks like they will still get a wild card.
Hinch left Keuchel in for target practice.  Don't know if the bullpen needed him to take one for the team. You'd think there would be some cannon fodder call ups who could have relieved  and that the Astros could have gotten their ace out of there with fewer pitches and less wear and tear. Hope he's not hurt.

So did the Mutts start their implosion? Or is it just a small losing streak?

to soon to tell.  We just have to beat the Marlins tonight to get to 7, then sweep the rest of the Marlins series while the yankees sweep the mets.  That puts us at 4 GB with 13 to play (including 3 against the Mets).

no way I'm letting this team drag me back in this year, I'll start having hope if/when they pull even

They can't maintain the insane pace they've been on since the ASB all the way thru the end of Oct.  The implosion has started.  :asplode:  Too bad it's too late for the Nats.  :whip:

I can't believe how urgently I'm rooting for the Yankees for the next 3 days.

Oh my gosh. In today's NY Times, the pro-Omar Minaya backlash has begun with a hagiography of how Minaya helped build the Mets.

Same thing happened in Philly with Ed Wade; however he could not get the team over the hump.  Didn't do well in Houston either but obviously some of the moves he made there are now coming to fruition.  How many teams have offered a GM position to Omar since then?  I think that tells the story.

It's kind of funny on the marlins part?

It's cute. I like it when official team accounts are fun.

Agreed, and there was nothing mean spirited about it just some lighthearted fun.

When I first read it about it, I thought they were favoriting and liking Marlin recipes.

Greg Holland pitched the playoffs last year, and this entire year with a torn UCL. That's toughness.

So who do we root for now that the Nats are eliminated? I'm sticking with my collapsing Astros in the AL and the Pirates in the NL.

Cubs over Pirates

Mets over Dodgers
Cubs over Cards

Don't care about AL except maybe have the Yankees lose.
