With a grand slam in the 1st tonight Stephen Vogt has now homered in 3 consecutive ABs since yesterday.

Not surprised. There were rumblings that he was on the hot seat after their massive choke job to lose the division last season.

Counsell's first win against the reigning NL CY and MVP, and best pitcher in the game.  Ho-hum.

Craig Counsell is the replacement. Maybe Milwaukee will universally adopt goofy batting stances to turn things around?

Craig Counsell also has a footnote in Nationals history: as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks, he made the first-ever plate appearance in the Nats' home debut in April 2005, facing Livan Hernandez (he struck out, if I recall aright).

I really thought the Orioles would whip the Mets this week but nope they are rolling over like dogs in this series. Look worse than the Nats this year.

The Astros are who we thought they were. About to get swept at home by the lowly Rangers.

Their division is so godawful, they still may have a shot at it.

Very true. Seattle is a disaster. Angels haven't been great either. Oakland has bad pitching.

Remember this later in the season when you go into crybaby mode as the Woes beat up on the Nats like usual.

well, at least they travelled west.  a 4 pm game would be like an east coast night game.  Probably got in last night about half past 10 . . .

Yeah. They thought they could steal a page from the Orioles. Problem is Dan Duquette,Buck Showalter and Dave Wallace are all better at that type of roster manipulation than their Boston counterparts.

Who wanted this guy again?

Todd Zolecki @ToddZolecki
According to @baseball_ref, Chase Utley's .099 average is lowest among qualified hitters through team's first 30 games since 1914.
