Does anybody have any first hand issues with Ram Trucks and Jeeps produced in the past three years or so? My lease is up on the Tacoma and I've fallen for the Ram 1500 Limited. Same kinda goes for the inevitable replacement for my wife's Volvo to a Grand Cherokee in the next few years.

I used to shy away from Chrysler products but it sounds like they might be turning into fairly decent quality products recently.

I went and test drove a 1500 Limited today. I ordered one before leaving the dealership. VaRK put to rest any fears I had about Stellantis.

The car talk guys used to talk about modern cars not needing to be warmed up, but I’ve never heard of it damaging a car until this. I’ll still use remote start because I’ve had it for decades and my cars seem perfectly fine. Idling for excessive amounts of time is bad because no air is getting into the radiator to cool the car, but I don’t 10 or 15 minutes is going to case problems

I've heard for most of my life (40+ adult years) that you should start an engine, run it for 15 or 30 seconds, then drive gently until it warms up. I can hear in my head reasons like high oil viscosity, oil not circulating through crankshaft bearings, gasoline running down unlubricated cylinder walls, better to run under a light load, etc.

Meaningful engine wear on a sound engine? I dunno. Modern cars use zero viscosity oil. Manufacturers provide you with remote start. Doesn't seem like they are that worried about it.

I watch way too much YouTube in retirement.  One amusing character is Scotty Kilmer, who does at least daily videos on cars, always entertaining.  He's spent a lifetime diagnosing and repairing cars, and seems happy to share.  Not shy about sharing his opinions on anything.

I also like outboard motor salvage, repair or rebuild.  I have a 25 hp Yamaha 2 stroke and had to replace the water pump a couple of years ago under a lot of time pressure.  Drop (remove) the lower unit would have been easy if not for the hidden bolt not shown in the YouTube video that was most appropriate. 
Dangar Marine (based in Australia) is one, ThatBoatGuy another.  ThatBoatGuy specializes in buying motors or boats on the cheap, out of people's yards, auctions, whatever, then cleaning and fixing them up to flip.  Amazing transformations, like this one:

i've got a 12 year old Honda minivan with ~155k miles that now needs catalytic converters after i already put about $4k in it in the last year. And it's developed a shake that hopefully is just the rear tires needing balancing. It also needs tires, and at this age, probably shocks/struts. The wife wants to replace it with another Odyssey but they are hard to find right now at MSRP. Even with a declining market and rising interest rates, Honda's supply chain is still a mess and they have a very low inventory of cars available.  At this point i'm planning on just clearing the engine code before the next inspection.
