Drove the ID.4. Wife fell in love with it. Comfortable, quiet, stable. Would be a perfect highway car.
Unfortunately, I think cylindrical (read, Tesla) batteries are superior - pouch type cells just expand and contract more - hence the recent fires. It looks like SK Innovations is making the Ford battery at the moment. They make the Kia (but not the Hyundai) battery. It's the LG Chem batteries that have been en fuego in the Bolt and the Kona.
The biggest differentiator is still the Super Charger network. So still undecided. We have a PHEV minivan for long trips, so maybe the VW makes sense.
I drove the Mustang Mach E EV. It was very impressive. The thing screamed off the line. It was much better than I expected. With the extended battery at 300 Miles, it’s really compelling. I had no idea it would be so nice.
I had been looking at plug in hybrids. But I might go full EV. My wife has a Toyota RAV4 Prime plug in and lives it. It’s a really good car.
