True. In '07 when I was fueling my TDI, diesel had become a lot more expensive than gasoline. And they were very expensive to maintain - always needed a turbo waste gate valve solenoid or an induction cleaning or something that cost $500+.
It cost a lot to keep that thing running.
And it ran *great* on biodiesel (refined soybean oil). Just burbled along smelling great with lots of punch. I ran it on 100% bio for probably 25K. Then petro-diesel prices dropped and I couldn't bring myself to keep paying $4 for bio.
Sure but when it's basically the same price point, it's financially much more efficient.
