Ok, for what it's worth, I know this is gonna sound terrible but it is what it is. He's Jewish for one and he owns it I say that because that kid lived with his mom until he was in his mid 20's and banked most of his salary. He'd brag about living the stereotype... He's like 5'8" and like 100lbs and I nicknamed him The Hebrew Hammer
He still goes by that if I'm not mistaken.

A lot of Porsche 911 guys don't like change even if the new version is faster and has more creature comforts.  For example the 991.1 is longer, faster, and more stable than the 997.2 that it replaced yet many do not like it because it lost a lot of the 911 feel and relies on technology like rear wheel steering and all sorts of electronic suspension gizmos that 911 traditionalists hate.   Plus you can't get the 991.1 GT3 or GT3RS in manual transmission and they also have electric steering.  Then you got the even more hardcore fans that love the air cooled engines and no electronic gizmos at all even though it is much more dangerous to drive as it has more of the pendulum feeling in the rear.

I rather have the 911 GT3RS 4.0 that Werth owns.  The last RS in manual transmission with a special bored and stroked 3.8 into a 4.0 engine from the factory.  Prices have skyrocketed on them ever since they announced that the new GT3 series cars are pdk only.

But I'm still happy with my Carrera GTS.  It's more hardcore than the Carrera S, but not too uncomfortable like the GT3.  The former editor of excellence mag called it the best ever handling 911 for the streets.  I really like the looks of the 997.2 the best which is why when I decided to buy a 911 a few years ago, I went with the 997.2 Carrera GTS over the 991.1 Carrera S.

So, the VIR deal was cancelled by Skip Barber...still waiting for my refund.   

Suffering from adrenaline withdrawl, I headed down to Daytona International Speedway to drive with the Richard Petty Driving Experience again yesterday.

They operate at Richmond International Speedway during the year as well.  Much shorter track and much lower speeds.  Harder to drive it because you are almost  constantly in a hard turn...

My first ride was a 1963 1/2 base model Falcon with a 260 V8 and a 2 speed automatic.  Jay's has had its 4 speed manual replaced by a 5 speed.  Really nice car!

If you're looking for a track day at VIR or any other track, there's sites that post when bmwcca or pca have track days.  It's impossible for groups to fill with only their brand so they usually invite anyone that can pass inspection at an approved garage.
