Probably be lots of folks milling around Chinatown after the parade.    Weather's lookin' like a tourist's dream.

Heading a few blocks away to The Old Ebbitt Grill for dinner after the game.  That should be a an hour drive as well...  ;)

Don't know where else to ask this...

Is the DMV on Spring Break, and if so, is traffic any better than usual in and around the city?

I think Montgomery might be on spring break this week.

Doing several flying and auto racing sessions this summer / fall.

One of them is Skip Barber's.  They mentiond bringing a Go-Pro with a rollbar attachment.

Anyone have experience with a Go-Pro?

I use one for underwater video, but have never used one of the attachments to fix it to anything.

I decided I'd have limited use for it, so I bought a Hero3 White bundle, and found several attachment and case options options on Ebay.

I had no idea these things were THAT small...

They take amazing video, and the software to process your images is free.  I haven't tried it yet but I hear Vimeo allows much better quality on your uploads than does Youtube.  So if you want to share video, try that.

Worth noting that a free vimeo account is limited to 500MB per week and your videos will only play at 720p.

I HAVE tried youtube but the quality sucks.  Maybe if I was drawing a few million hits they'd up my bandwidth.

1080p and up to 128GB or 11 hours per video.  The problem is that YouTube has a max bitrate on 1080p of 6 Mbps.  Vimeo does up to 10 Mbps on 720p and 20 Mbps on 1080p.

If you upload raw footage to either, they are going to almost certainly re-encode it because of will be higher bitrate than the max.  YouTube's encoding apparently sucks so you have better results if you re-encode yourself to something below the threshold before uploading.

This is the Formula Skip Barber car I'll be driving in October.  About twice as heavy as my Harley with 34% more horsepower and torque.

I drove 150mph+ in an Indy Lights type car on the 1.5 mile oval at Miami Homestead a few years ago, but this will be on the 3.27 mile Virginia International Raceway full course.

Should be something different...

Either my worldview is seriously out of date or they need to hire someone else to do market research  :hysterical:

It could gain some irony traction - like the hipster guys with Bass Pro Shop mesh caps and bowling league shirts.

The Nationals claim the value of their raffle Harley is $47,205.96.  I didn't pay close attention to the details, but it would seem it would have to be a CVO Road Glide...those retail at $40K and change...plus the Nationals touches, whatever those may be.

Income tax on this thing for whoever wins will not be cheap...

I'm betting it'll be resold immediately (and probably for less than 47k)

Yeah...They capped tickets at 10,000, but I really doubt they sell that many tickets unless they have the players signed up to take the shortfall...
