I drive a diesel shame-mobile and I'm only 23% on my way toward paying for it. Resale value is gonna be crap now. I'm pissed!
Still emits less than gas trucks and SUVs (which also get terrible MPG). Your car will be worth more.
Unless diesel becomes impossible to find at stations...
