One the things this old man learned is that a new dream car comes along every damn year. And it's always better than the one you bought last year.

The one you buy in a few years will be way better than this one.


Not always true.

A lot of Porsche 911 guys don't like change even if the new version is faster and has more creature comforts.  For example the 991.1 is longer, faster, and more stable than the 997.2 that it replaced yet many do not like it because it lost a lot of the 911 feel and relies on technology like rear wheel steering and all sorts of electronic suspension gizmos that 911 traditionalists hate.   Plus you can't get the 991.1 GT3 or GT3RS in manual transmission and they also have electric steering.  Then you got the even more hardcore fans that love the air cooled engines and no electronic gizmos at all even though it is much more dangerous to drive as it has more of the pendulum feeling in the rear.
